Dragonwell or Dragon Well tea is famous China’s green tea. Dragonwell, also called as Longjing, Long-Gin, Long Jing, or Lung Ching is high quality green tea. Longjing tea is produced by hand and has broad and flat leaves and distinctive rich vegetative aroma. Longjing tea leaves are unfermented (as all other green and white teas). When steeped, Dragonwell tea produces a yellow-green color. Dragonwell contains vitamin C, amino acids, and has one of the highest concentration of catechins (antioxidant compounds) among teas, second only to white teas. Dragon Well originates from the mountains surrounding the beautiful West Lake of Hangzhou in Zhejiang province of China. The most famous varieties of Dragonwell tea include Xi Hu Longjing, also known as West Lake Longjing. Xi Hu Longjing is China Famous Tea. Bird’s Tongue Longjing has more intense aroma than other
varieties. Dragonwell is often called the national drink of China and is also
a favorite tea of today's top leaders. There special plantations
of the Dragonwell tea reserved for the government.
