Health benefits of green tea

In the past five years, the Green Tea industry has experienced a boom in sales. The reasoning behind this is largely due to the health benefits that Green Tea has to offer. This new preferred drink is a valuable asset to both fitness gurus as well as those who are trying to lose weight. Nevertheless, studies show that most people simply assume that Green Tea is good for you because they heard it through the metaphorical grapevine or through advertising. When asked what the exact benefits of Green Tea are, most individuals don’t have a clue. Though this new drink of choice has many health benefits, perhaps the largest is that of fighting cancer.

One of the more notable is that of lung cancer. Due to air pollution and the instances of smoking, the rate of lung cancer has risen to frightening levels in the past few decades. Studies have shown that a regular consumption of green tea lowers the rate of lung cancer, particularly in the case of females. Unfortunately, research also shows that the instance of lung cancer in relation to tobacco smokers remains unchanged. While Green Tea seems to fight the instance of cancer in non-smoker, it doesn’t affect smokers in a positive way in relation to lung cancer.

Another form of cancer that Green Tea seems to have a positive effect in combating is that of esophageal cancer. Researchers are stating that, with a daily average intake of Green Tea, that it appears as if it could be a “chemo-preventive” possibility in therapeutic treatment and a very effective application in already present esophageal Adnenocarcinoma.

The Polyphenol chemical that is present in Green Tea extract (epigallocatechin gallate) seems to have a chemo-preventive impact on many of the massive variety of cancers that are often detected within the digestive system of the human body.

With the massive variety of health issues that the human race is facing today due to outside influences, any physician worth his salt will tell you that taking measures to prevent a disease is the most powerful and effective form of combating it. According to researchers, Green Tea may just be the next big weapon against cancer.
