If you want to make great iced tea, it is easy. Just follow a few simple rules and you will get the best summertime beverage. This recipe is for 6 cups of iced tea. You can make iced tea from any kind of tea, so choose your favorite one. For best results, use whole-leaf loose tea. You will need 5 or 6 tea bags for this amount of water. Boil 4 cups of water. Your iced tea will taste better with bottled water. Place the tea bags in the teapot and pour boiled water over the tea bags. Allow your tea to steep for one hour. You can place the teapot outside on the sun to make “sun tea”. Next, remove the tea bags from the pot. Add 2/3 cup of sugar to your tea. Stir, until the sugar is dissolved. Then, add 2 more cups of cold water. Stir the tea again. Place the pot in the refrigerator. It is important not to add ice cubes at this time, it would water down the iced tea and flatten your beverage. Keep the iced tea in the refrigerator for a few hours, but never leave the tea in the refrigerator for too long. Iced tea will lose its taste if it stays in the refrigerator for more than a day. Serve your ice tea with a lemon wedge, so you can squeeze it into your glass. As alternative to lemon, you might want to add a few mint, red rose, or lemon myrtle leaves to add flavor to your drink. You can make your iced tea with ginger for more spicy taste. Experiment with different sorts of tea, steeping time, and the
amount of sugar to create your own favorite concoction.
