Natural teas for stress relief

The average blue-collar individual works in a nine to five world where everything needs to be done today, preferably within the next two hours. Then, we go home to a five to nine world where the kids are involved in sports, the bills are late, and the yard needs to be mowed, all at once. There was a time when basic life was the stress reliever and outside influences caused stress. Today, basic life is the major cause of stress. Fortunately, there are many ways to decrease the negative impact of this stress on the human body, but unfortunately most ways are not natural. In many cases, your physician will merely tell you that you need to avoid stress. Though it is good advice, life just doesn’t work that way.

Recent studies have revealed that one popular way to “stress down” is through the drinking of natural forms of teas. The research revealed that individuals that drank tea on a regular basis were able to lose the stress at a much faster rate than those that did not, in some instances over four times as quickly. In these studies, those drinking a daily allowance of natural teas had a far lower amount of cortisol, a stress-causing chemical, in their physiological system.

The overall truth behind the health benefits of drinking the various types of tea are still largely a mystery, as scientists and researchers have found that tea itself is a very complex herb, with a wide variety of chemicals and aspects to it. However, if further research does reveal that tea truly does lower stress levels, the possibilities in the health and medical industry are endless. Stress is one of the number one causes of cardiovascular issues known to man. Perhaps, in the long run, we may just discover that our cure will not come in the form of a pill or a shot, but in that of a nice, comforting warm cup of tea.
