Red rose tea

Tea has been a preferred drink for centuries.  It wasn’t until 1899 a Canadian business man, Theodore Estabrooks, discovered how to make a high quality blend of tea so that each cup of tea was consistent from cup to cup. He developed a delectable blend of rich Sri Lankan and Indian tea leaves, something thought of at the time as tasting unique and different and preferred over the usual oriental blends that were so commonly used. Thus the Red Rose Brand was created. 
It was in 1929 that Estabrooks began packaging the tea into cup-size portions and sealed into small bags. And aren’t we glad he did.  Because of his ingenuity and marketing abilities, we have adopted his ideas and today’s tea bags, though much smaller, makes drinking a cup of tea so convenient and delicious. Before Estabrooks time tea was sold loose from open chests and trunks.  Times needed a change and Theodore Estabrooks fulfilled that need. The high quality of Red rose tea was the same then as it is today.
Red Rose tea quickly became a household name and continued its popularity from Canada throughout the world. Each box of Red Rose tea came with a small porcelain animal. There was a new one each month. They still continue with different figurines to choose from.  Many people who collect the porcelain statues will display them in a case on their wall.  They are cute and fun to collect and are still traded and collected today.
