Soy milk

Soy milk is made from ground up soy beans that have been soaked in water.  It has wonderful benefits over cow’s milk and especially if you can’t drink cow’s milk for digestive reasons or you are a vegetarian or vegan and soy is the only way to go for you, soy milk is fast becoming the drink of choice.  Drinking soy milk has only been around a short time where it derivative tofu was first recorded as early as ancient China where they used it for medicinal purposes.
While soy milk has just about the same amount of protein as cow’s milk you won’t have the digestive problems and other allergic problems as you see with drinking cow’s milk.  For this reason soy milk is popular worldwide. Soy based infant milk can easily replace breast milk and especially if your baby is lactose intolerant from an early age and you are not breast feeding the preferred choice of pediatricians is infant formula made from soy.
There are a variety of products that can be made for soy in addition to drinking it: tofu, soy butter, soy nuts and even soy burgers.  The benefits to your over all cardiovascular and your overall health is astounding because soy has a high content of polyunsaturated fats, fiber, vitamins and minerals and a very low amount of saturated fat.
The world of soy milk and soy products, have come a long way from the bland tasteless soy from days gone by.  We really need to give thanks to the millions who before only tolerated drinking soy milk and ate soy based products that they would demand and got a much better tasting variety of soy product.  Ever tried soy chocolate milk? If you check in your grocery store and natural food grocery store you will find a wide variety of soy milk and soy based products to choose from, and the good thing about that is that these new products taste great and just because of that you will find yourself drinking and eating more soy and really enjoying it!
